Top Questions
Do I need Insoles?
In a word, yes. Most of the shoes we wear don't have proper arch support, resulting in misalignment and pain throughout the body. Everyone can benefit from more support.
Will Fulton insoles work for my arch type?
Yes! Fulton insoles work for all arch types. They mold to support the way you walk in the specific pair of shoes you’re wearing. Every body is different, and so is every shoe! After around 10 hours of consistent wear, your Fulton insoles will be customized for your unique arch, providing support that’s tailored just for you
How is Fulton different from other insoles?
Glad you asked! There are a lot of things that make Fulton insoles different, such as the materials, design, and efficacy (to name a few). They’re both comfortable AND supportive unlike store brand insoles, which are made from squishy gels and foams. Their cork base allows your insoles to customize to your unique arch while providing arch support, heel stabilization, and shock absorption. And, they’re the most sustainable insoles on the planet. To read more about what makes Fulton different, check out this post.
Which insole should I buy: The Classic, Athletic, or Universal Insole?
The Classic Insole was designed for shoes that have narrower toe boxes (daily wear, lifestyle shoes), while The Athletic Insole was designed for shoes that have wider toe boxes (athletic, performance shoes). The Universal Insole was designed for closed-toed shoes without removable insoles (loafers, booties, flats). You can also decide based on your intended activity level: for walking and lower impact activities, we recommend The Classic Insole or Universal Insole, and for higher impact activities, we recommend The Athletic Insole. The insoles also differ in the materials used on their top layer and the type of foam cushioning used; you can read more about the differences here.
Are they custom?
Fulton insoles are an innovative type of insole that we call “custom molding,” which bridges the gap between over-the-counter insoles and custom orthotics. They will arrive at your doorstep the same way any other pair of OTC insoles would, but mold to support your unique body after about 10 hours of wear. Fulton insoles are effective, affordable, and tailored to your body.
I am a medical professional, is there any way I can offer Fulton insoles to my patients?

Use and Care
How often should I wear them?
We suggest wearing them every day, at least at first. This way, they’ll have time to mold to your feet and deliver the full benefits of proper arch support. Some people may experience an initial break-in period with minor discomfort – that’s completely normal, and should go away in due time! However, if you experience extreme pain during the break-in process, we recommend you stop wearing your insoles until you consult a medical professional.
How long do they take to break in?
In general, your insoles should be broken in after about 10 hours of walking with them (or 30 miles – whichever comes first!)
Should I move them between shoes?
We strongly suggest keeping your insoles in the same pair of shoes. The insoles will mold to the shape of your feet based on the way you walk in a specific pair of shoes, so regularly moving them between shoes won’t provide optimal support and may impact the duration that the insoles last.
How long do they last?
Fulton insoles are quite durable, and will last about as long as a pair of shoes. We recommend replacing your Fulton insoles when you replace your shoes.
Can I run in Fulton insoles?
Yes! But we recommend that you break them in first by walking on them, to give your body and the insole time to adjust—especially if you’ve never worn supportive insoles before.
What if I feel pain when wearing insoles?
Sometimes the body takes time to adjust to arch support, especially while you break in your insoles. It’s not unusual to feel slight discomfort for the first walk or two, until the insoles fully break in. If your pain is severe or persists, please take the insoles out of your shoes and consult a medical professional.
Can Fulton insoles be worn without socks?
We recommend wearing socks! Although they can be worn barefoot, Fulton insoles were designed to work best with socks.
Sizing and Fit
What size should I order?
We recommend buying the same size insoles as the shoes you’re planning to wear them in. If you’re between full sizes, order a size up! Fulton insoles fit perfectly in over 95% of shoes, but if you have any questions or concerns about what size to order, feel free to reach out to support@walkfulton.com and we can help!
Do I have to cut them?
No! Your Fulton insoles will run true to size, so make sure you order according to the size of the shoe you are planning to wear them in.If you’re between sizes, size up!
What types of shoes can I wear these in?
The Classic and Athletic insoles are intended for shoes with removable insoles (generally sneakers and boots). The Universal insoles are intended shoes without removable insoles (like some loafers, flats, boots and booties). Fulton insoles are not intended for sandals or high heeled shoes.
Are the insoles standard or wide?
The Classic and Athletic Insoles are offered in both standard and wide sizes. The Universal Insoles are only available in standard widths.
What width should I order?
For the Classic or Athletic Insoles, it depends what shoes you plan to wear them in. If the shoes are standard width, we recommend ordering our standard width Fulton insoles. If the shoes are wide width, then we recommend ordering wide width Fulton insoles. For the Universal Insoles, one width supports all!
What do I do if they don’t fit in my shoes?
First, check to make sure you’ve removed your current insoles before inserting your Fulton insoles. If you aren’t satisfied with your initial fit, we strongly encourage you to try your insoles in multiple pairs of shoes before deciding which to keep them in and mold them to. If you’re still having a difficult time, feel free to contact support – we’re always happy to help!
